Yoshie Darnall

Yoshie Darnall, MSN, APRN, ANP-BC, WHNP-BC, is a women’s health nurse practitioner with more than 15 years of clinical experience and a background in emergency medical services. Her work focuses on advancing women’s health through a combination of clinical care, public health strategy, and community partnership.
She has contributed to statewide maternal health initiatives, including the development of Tennessee’s first Maternal Health Strategic Plan, and has led efforts to improve access to care for pregnant and postpartum individuals. Yoshie is passionate about family planning and ensuring access to contraception as a critical component of women’s health and autonomy. She also helped launch the Tennessee Menstrual Equity Coalition, working to expand access to menstrual products and promote dignity for all. Her work is deeply informed by a commitment to supporting women who have experienced domestic and sexual violence, as well as improving the health and well- being of women navigating mental health challenges and those who are incarcerated.
Yoshie was recognized as the 2024 Family Planning Administrator of the Year by the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association. She is committed to empowering women through education, increasing access to care, and advancing efforts that ensure women are informed, supported, and able to advocate for themselves.
